A double moto victory for Lucas Coenen in EMX250 Finland

Lucas Coenen of Jumbo Husqvarna BT Racing has won both motos of the EMX250 round in Finland. Coenen was in a great shape and managed to take the overall win. Sacha Coenen had a get off in practice and sustained a crack in his ankle.

The day started with mixed fortunes for the team. Lucas found his flow immediately on the track and took pole position while Sacha had a crash and injured his ankle. Because it’s only a minor crack he won’t be out that long.

Lucas took a good start in the opening moto and took the lead in the beginning of the race. He tried to make a gap over himself and the rest of the field. Unfortunately he had a small crash and dropped back to fourth position. When he found his rhythm again he started to put the pressure on the riders in front of him. He passed one rider after another and worked his way back up into the lead. He controlled the race from then on and won the moto.

In the second moto he took the holeshot and started to pull away from the second place rider immediately. Lucas never looked back and dominated the race.

With a double moto win he took the overall win in Finland. For Lucas this was his fifth moto win out of six motos. With only one round to go he sits in third position in the championship. The final round of the championship will be held in St. Jean d’Angely in France next weekend.
