Husqvarna BT Racing takes with Kay Karssemakers third EMX250 podium of the season in Spain

Husqvarna BT Racing has taken a podium position at round four of the EMX250 Championship in Arroyomolinos in Spain last weekend. With a 5-2 in the motos it was Kay Karssemakers who finished in third position overall. His team mate Maxime Grau ended up in seventh with a 7-8 in the motos.

The pace was high in time practice on Saturday and the differences between the riders were small. The track was already sketchy due to the long ruts and the high speed. Maxime Grau found his rhythm immediately and managed to set the fourth fastest time in time practice. Kay Karssemakers was struggling to put a decent lap together and had to be satisfied with the fourteenth fastest time.

Grau took a really good start in the first moto and started the race in second position. In the beginning of the moto he was riding inside of the top three and later till the closing stages inside of the top five. Unfortunately he had to lower the pace in the second part of the race and finally finished the race in seventh place. Karssemakers worked his way back up from eighth position. In the beginning of the race it was difficult to make the difference but later in the race it started to go better and he managed to finish in fifth position.

In the second moto it was Karssemakers who took the best start from both riders. In the first half of the race he was riding in fourth place but in the second part of the moto he started to put the pressure on the riders in front of him. He took over third position and in the final lap he made a pass stick on the second place rider and finished the race in second. Grau started the race just outside of the top five but in a few laps he worked himself back up to fifth. Just as in the first moto he had to lower the pace a bit in the second part of the moto and finally finished the race in eighth place.

Karssemakers finished third overall and Grau ended the weekend in seventh. After four rounds it is Karssemakers who sits in second in the championship and Grau has climbed up to eleventh place. In four weeks from now the series continues in Kegums, Latvia.
