A Successful weekend for Lucas Coenen and Jumbo Husqvarna BT Racing

Lucas Coenen of Jumbo Husqvarna BT Racing has had a successful weekend. On Saturday he finished second in the final standings of the Dutch Masters of Motocross competition in Rhenen and on Sunday he managed to win the final round of the French MX2 championship in Basly.

The track of Rhenen was well prepared and was pretty hard due to the warm weather circumstances. In practice Lucas and Sacha went for it and finally it was Sacha who almost took the pole position and ended the session in third while Lucas ended up in twelfth position after several attempts.

In the opening moto it was Lucas who took the holeshot and was leading the field after turn one. Lucas was riding a strong moto and was in second for almost the entire duration of the race. Unfortunately with still a few laps to go he got passed and finished the race in third position. Sacha took a poor start and had to come back from around fifteenth position. He charged back to a position inside of the top ten till he had a nasty get off with another rider which forced him to retire from the race.

In the second moto it was again Lucas who took a really good start and jumped over the first jump in the leading group. Again he was riding in second position for almost the entire duration of the race. He gave everything he had but in the closing stages of the race he got passed and finished in third. Sacha took a much better start and was riding inside of the top five till he had a nasty get off. With a headache and a sore shoulder he was forced to retire from the race.

Lucas finished in third position overall which was enough to end the championship in a strong second position. Sacha finished in sixth position in the final Dutch Championship Standings.

Lucas participated in the final round of the French Championship in Basly today and managed to take the overall win with a 3-1 in the motos. Sacha wasn’t riding here because of his sore shoulder.
