Jumbo Husqvarna BT Racing scores a second position in the EMX250 race at Maggiora

Round three of the EMX250 series was held on the famous track of Maggiora in Italy. Lucas Coenen managed to score a second position in the first moto. Unfortunately he crashed at the start of the second moto and had to come back through the field. After another crash in the closing stages of the race he finished in fifteenth place and ended up sixth overall. Sacha Coenen dislocated his shoulder at the start of the first moto and was out for the rest of the weekend. This week he will visit his doctor to see how worse the damage is and how many weeks he needs to recover from this injury.

The track of Maggiora was in prime condition on Saturday. The weather circumstances were great and due to this the track was dry and fast. The Coenen brothers were looking forward to the first moto but unfortunately it started with a set back for Sacha. He crashed at the start and dislocated his shoulder. Lucas took a good start and he came out of the first lap in second position. During the race he held on to this position and managed to finish the race in second place.

At the start of the second moto things went wrong for Lucas. He collided with another rider and crashed. Due to this he had to come back from last position and gave everything to make up as many positions as possible. He worked his way up to thirteenth position and came closer to the top ten! Unfortunately he made a small crash in the closing stages of the race and lost a few positions again to finally finish in fifteenth position.

With a 2-15 in the motos he took sixth position overall. This is his position in the championship as well. Next weekend the series continues in the sand of Riola Sardo in Sardinia.
