Podium Finish For Jumbo Husqvarna BT Racing With Lucas Coenen At Dutch Masters In Arnhem

Jumbo Husqvarna BT Racing had a strong start to the Dutch Masters of Motocross series in Arnhem. Lucas Coenen finished third in the opening race, and rode a tremendous catch-up race in the second heat to get to seventh, for third overall. Sacha Coenen also had a strong outing, finishing seventh overall.

The Coenen brothers had a good feeling for the track at Arnhem from the get-go. Lucas qualified third, with Sacha claiming the ninth gate.

Lucas launched just outside of the top five in the first race. “My reaction was just a bit slow, but I made up somewhat on the start straight, and got into sixth by the first corner. I quickly moved up to third, but the leaders were gone by then. I had good lap times throughout the race, and finished third,” Lucas said.

Sacha had a lesser start, and had to fight his way forward, Despite a crash, he recovered well and fought its way up to 12th position by the time a red flag stopped proceedings.

Sacha had a good start in the second race, but lost a lot of positions at the first corner. “I ended up next to my bike, and had to come from far back to finish eighth,” he commented. Lucas also had his share of problems. He crashed after a good start, and was relegated to last spot. He kept posting good lap times, and worked his way to seventh, which earned him a well-deserved third overall. This was his debut podium in the 250 class.

With third and seventh overall respectively, Lucas and Sacha are confident going into next weekend’s Dutch Championship opener at Lierop.
